Bangladesh eye rise in ODI rankings

Bangladesh could not afford to relax on the eve of the third one-day international, a dead rubber one, against Pakistan given the ranking issue is directly involved in it. They already sealed the three-match series, showing an outright control in the last two matches.  A 3-0 series sweep though would not move them up in the rankings, it would give them a valuable two rating points for which the team is unlikely to ponder any experiment. Now  Bangladesh in ninth on ICC ODI rankings, Now they have 9 rating points which will be 81 should they win the dead rubber and will close the gap between Pakistan and West Indies in the ladder. In case of whitewash, Pakistan’s point will be 92, same number as the West Indies have now. But the men from So all three departments at the moment are skillful and are doing well because of the confidence and we are trying to hold on it for the more games to come. He also said   As a team we have done really well so when the captain has got so many options its good for the team. Shakib and Nasir playing as batsman who can also bowl well, it is really good for the team. We have three good batsmen who can also bowl well that give the team a good balance.
the Caribbean would hold a slender 0.13 point advantage when the ratings are calculated beyond the decimal point. Bangladesh spin bowling coach Ruwan Kalpage indicated the team will not carry out any experiment in the game. Moreover the team is also inclined to keep up the winning momentum.  “It’s important for us to improve our one-day ranking. So, this is not the time for doing experiments. We are always looking forward to the ranking. I think tomorrow’s game is really important for Bangladesh and it’s important for the team to win every game at the moment. Because that the way we can only come up in one-day ranking, ,” Kalpage said before the team’s practice session at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. He also said that it is a good opportunity and if we have this winning combination going, it is good for the future of the Bangladesh one-day team, So we won’t do much change. The players are acting according to the plan and it is good sign that it’s happening in the correct direction and we all are happy for that. Kalpage believed that the team’s confidence is so high now that everything goes in right direction at the moment. Not only the first two ODIs, I think we had a very good training done for last six months and time to time. We can’t expect them to field high level all the time. But they have got lot of confidence and when you have confidence you can perform well in batting, bowling or fielding.
